One thing to bear in mind, with an APS-C tele on the Q, it's not easy to stabilize the setup. The slightest movement can introduce motion blur. I only ever aimed it at the moon and that proved challenging enough. Can't really imagine trying to 'catch' a bird with it.

I had that issue with a camera/kit lens combo of different brand. It happens across the board on occasions. Frankly, I would not worry too much about that. If it actually surfaces, it qualifies you for gear replacement under warranty. It's very easy to demonstrate. 2 years is plenty of time to figure out most potential issues with anything.

Bloatware? Not just my view. They've been renowned for it for as long as I can remember (a long time!)

That thread (from 2009!) is about Adobe Acrobat and outside of long loading times doesn't really explain anything. I'm still not sure what bloatware we are referring to

I would not in any way compare it to the limiteds personally but It is a very good lens. So good that it shames the 24-70mm somewhat imo - had both side by side for few days. It's razor sharp wide open and throughout the range; seems to have great micro contrast and very nice colors. It has one serious fault and that is abominable vignetting at the wide end. In some circumstances I was unable to remove it in post. Not the end of the world and surely does not disqualify it given the price and other attributes. It's very versatile. Having the extra mm at the long end is nice in comparison to the standard zoom.

As for blurry background probably reverse to what you will be doing but it demonstrates it somewhat I think (sorry could not find a better example quickly):

Oh boy....and here was me, praising Adobe like never before for the last update that not only went smoothly, but Lightroom is now relatively speedy, even with K1 files Hope at least the performance will make up for the hassle to you.

Oh wow, ok. That is very poor design indeed I'd be tempted to agree that the grass is greener elsewhere but been there, done that...it wasn't haha. Lack of thought and poor quality control seems to be the plague of our times, regardless of brand.

According to the spec sheet you need HDMI output terminal (Type D) like all the other bodies....confused Might be worth contacting Pentax service or maybe asking a friend at the photo club to try one of their cables. D is industry standard due to size. You either have a faulty cable or a faulty connector on the camera. Can't really think of any other reason it would not fit.
