I may have rose-tinted taste buds, but I thought that Fosters was quite a nice beer down under.
Can't argue with that. There are beers for really hot climates and beers for the traditional British climate. And there definitely are some decent beers in the USA. A bunch of us Brits on a business trip once drunk a hotel dry of Sam Adams. A decent beer among a whole lot of indistinguishable, tasteless and ice cold Buds, Coors and suchlike.

Steve
Yup I do like a hoppy beer/LPA's and the American Hops are all the rage as I understand it now, the English breweries are trying/have replicated their 'hoppy style' hop, great news for me. I have been hooked on the Shipyard LPA cans/bottles available in supermarkets...... hic.

I returned later with a different lens, DF-A 28-105mm WR, tried to get closer but in the mud;

But for the tide being in LOL, few shots midday with the K1 mkII and DA* 11-18mm at 18mm and a CPL.
First three are cropped to get in close without wet feet, I may return later this evening when the tide is lower.

I shall have to get around to trying one, given a pass first of course from SWMBO.
Invite SWMBO along - romantic walk in the twilight, ask her which patch of sky is her favourite, then photograph its star trails 'just for her'. What girl could resist??

Steve[/quote]Good one!. However....first and last attempt at night sky shooting (other than the garden) with the 'boss' we were in the country side well away from city light pollution, as I had explained to her. Dark narrow country lane the car semi hidden in a tractor gate turning area, pretty much pitch black. Farmer's 4 by 4 goes by, then slowly reverses. Window down he pulls alongside with his wife in the passenger seat, and says ....
"and what are you two up to?" in a sardonic monotone almost......
Haha luckily I had the tripod setup as I explained......wife totally embarrassed....blurts out "this is my husband" WTF.....

Good picture and inspiring, I shall have to get around to trying one, given a pass first of course from SWMBO.

Quick walk down by the rocks again, K1 mkII and DA* 11-18mm all taken at 18mm using a CPL, hand held.
All CC's welcome These shots had barely any tweaking other than pulling up some shadows by increasing the exposure, on a few of them, as shot slightly under exposed, but I am pleased that for once a good 90% plus of my shots are in the correct white balance IMHO straight out of camera, clear and bright, Enjoy - best viewed listening to calming music

Took the KP and DA*300 with the 1.4 TC but nothing doing bird wise so used the smc-A 50mm f2 which is very light to carry, and took these shots, hand held and mainly SOOC. The shots are only for checking out this lens again, I am pleased with it, especially as it only cost £5 plus three quid postage, had to clean it though.
