The phraseology seems a little too Nigerian to me..
I just checked a couple of phrases into Google, and it's not an email that's doing the rounds though, or not yet anyway.

try something like this..
http://www.liamsworld.org.uk/marwell1.shtml
it's all controlled by the hover: command in the style sheet. (not my original idea, I've modified the original code found here http://cssplay.co.uk/menu/gallery.html) Any browser used in the last 10 years or so will work with it. It loads quickly as well. You need to know a bit about writing css and HTML, but it ain't rocket science for something like that.. Plenty of resources (free templates and information) on the web www.w3schools.com is one of the best, with plenty of tutorials.
One of these days, I might even put some more galleries up..

all nice pics.. lovely bright colours.
Paul, just to add to the instructions for posting images, you must add the http:// of the URL, which makes the browser search the internet for the image, rather than just this website.

if you need a USB lead longer than 5m, then you'll need to use one labelled up "active repeater", due to signal degredation over the length.

are the lines always in the same orientation independent of whether you take the shot in landscape or portrait?.. ie. always horizontal/vertical to the alignment of the sensor. IIRC, you have an orientation detector in the K10D. If that's working the data transfer should be made across one orientation, and along the other..
Also.. have you tried reloading the firmware, to make sure it's not some sort of corruption in it. Yes, clutching at straws, but it can't hurt to try, all the same.
Just another thought, from a tired.. but helpful soul..

It looks like sensor failure to me.. at first glance. I can't see how missing data transferred from the reader would do that??
Sorry!

you've probably seen it by now, but there's an explanatory post in the announcement's section, about login problems. Apparently it's nothing personal..
