Hi Tim,

scary.. I was going to post an almost identical shot taken from the battery Bank Holiday Sunday.. but the sensor was too dirty, and the picture wasn't enough of a stunner for me to be bothered cleaning up the image. I'm guessing that was taken Saturday.. the weather was horrible on the Sunday.. I took some of the glass-blowing down at Needles park instead, which I'll probably post one or two of some time.

Did you go over on the Hovercraft or the Car Ferry? We came back on the Hovercraft on Monday, and to say it was a touch wobbly is an understatement.. you wouldn't have got me on the ferry for love nor money.

Cheers

Chaps, please.. enough of the fighting talk..

Do we really want this forum to lower it's level that far??

I'm all for robust debate, but arguing over who'd walk away best if you traded comments face to face adds nothing to the thread, and takes away from the subject at hand.

Back to the OP, you've asked for critique Kemal.. and you've already made it plain.. that the images are in the style you've chosen to use.. is there something you'd like to change in them technically, and can't put your finger on?

I quite like No5, in the library, but it would have been better if the large book on the left wasn't there, it would have made the lines flow through the image more fluidly. The perspective of the shelves running back look as though they emanate fronm the middle of her head.. which I like.. it could be used as an illustration of knowledge for instance.. a good cover shot for a college or university prospectus maybe, perhaps cropped square.

Just a thought..

Cheers

EDIT: BTW, your site URL in your signature; the BB code on this forum doesn't resolve the string correctly because of the "" used. Remove them and it'll work fine.

Hi,

according to..

http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

the 188A has a trigger voltage of 4.1 volts.. if true.. and this does seem to be a reliable online source, mentioned here several times, then you'll be fine. If you have an AVO meter then just double check as per Georges' post.

Hi Dan,

Re: the 200

I know hindsight is everything, but you should have mentioned at the St Albans meet.. I'd have let you play around with mine.

You can set the dividers to gain access vertically (from the perspective of having the bag swung into the access position) without too much trouble.

I have, in the main body of the bag, *ist DL with FA 100-300 attached, 18-55, 70-210 (soligor macro) 2xconverter, 2 off 30mm ext tubes, FA 50mm 1.7, FA 35-80, AF 360. Front pocket for cards and batteries, and top pocket for filters, holder.. spare rings, a £1 desktop tripod, cleaning kit, and space for a pacamac. There's also three straps to attach Lowepro external pouches.. (there's a name for the system, but I can't remember what it is right now.. ) so you can attach water bottles, mobile phones etc..,

The waterproof cover is a simple thing to use, without taking the bag off your shoulder as well. As Rob Brydon would say.. "all in all, a very nice peice of equipment"..

I'll second Mr. Ist.. I've got the 200, and it's great. One advantage is taht you can change lenses over the bag whilst standing up, so if you have a senior moment and drop a lens, it'll fall a few inches into the padding.. better than 5' onto tarmac.

59 euros is a good price as well, they were (IIRC) £79 in a local camera shop on Saturday.

Hi all,

for those that just want 6x4/7x5 prints, there's a review here of the main online/highstreet stores..

http://www.thinkcamera.com/news/article/mps/UAN/489/v/1/?source=weeklyemail&...

Hope it's of some use.

EDIT: I use Bonusprint for 12x8s and they're very good.

Hi Graham,

I've been looking around at the various cleaning products this morning. I haven't got a K10, so I'd not needed to know, but it does state on most? sites that for all tin oxide sensors, you need to use the E2 fluid..

here's one example, although they don't mention the K10 specifically (and another UK stockist also)

Hi Matt,

regarding the Pentax cleaning kit, I've just ordered one from SRS, so I'll let everyone know what it's like in a few days.

Here's a bablefish translation of this page on it..

Quote:
ペンタックス sells the image sensor cleaning kit "O-ICK1" for the digital single-lens reflex camera on the 30th. As for price 4,200 Yen.

ペンタックス product private image pickup element cleaning kit. You say that you have used even in service sector of the same company.

The kit consists the cleaning paper which removes the cleaning stick and come in contact with the stamp section the rubbish and the dust which have the stamp section which has stickiness in the point. When the stamp surface is pressed to the low-pass filter surface, because the rubbish, the dust and the oil content come in contact with the stamp, before cleaning other place, cleaning the stamp surface with the cleaning seat. This is repeated.

As for stamp section polyurethane rubber make. You say that by the fact that the angular section of the stamp section is pressed to the four corners of the image pickup element, it can clean to every nook and cranny. In addition, equipping the stamp section and the guide section of the similar figure on labor assistant side of the stick. While cleaning direction of the angular section can be verified.

Furthermore, from the stamp section length to cleaning stick central index from the image pickup element has become the same length to as the mount surface. Whether by the fact that you look at index, the stamp has reached in the image pickup element, verification possibility. You say that the fact that unreasonable power is added to the image pickup element is prevented.
Couldn't find it on the Pentax.co.uk site. What that actually means in English is of course another matter entirely..

I've just received my K10D and an Arctic Butterfly SL700. I thought that would be the best combination for dry cleaning. As for wet cleaning, the tin oxide sensor on the K10D needs a special solution mix because of the materials used and I can't find any in the UK (Eclipse E2, has to be the E2 solution, not the standard one which can corrode the sensor).

I'm hoping I don't have to run a cleaning cycle with my SL700 any time soon as it is new.
Hi Tyr,

they list it at Bristol Cameras for £22.. I don't know if it's in stock though.
