A lovely day yesterday in the local countryside. Was out to take photos of marathon runners, something new for me. Certainly took the wrong lens and couldn't focus fast enough, so a lot of dud shots to sort through. Long gaps between runners at times, which led to this set. I'm not sure if I like them or not - all opinions welcome! K-3 + DA* 60-250.

Not a massive fan of formal gardens as a rule, so went along with some reluctance when my wife suggested a visit. In the event, there was less formality than I expected and a lot to please the eye. Hope I've captured a bit of that here. K-70 + DA 16-85.

Thanks, Karlo - I tend to agree with you these days. As well as being fascinatingly attractive, flowers are much more easily accessible than the majority of birds!

Not to everyone's taste, I know, but I find close-ups of flowers irresistible - such a variety of shape, colour, texture etc. Hope these appeal to those of like mind! Taken 2 days ago at RHS Harlow Carr Gardens, near Harrogate. I'll post a few wider views later. K-70 and DA 16-85

Thanks, David - in fact, I did not know that. My own fault for not reading the manual fully. I must admit that reading manuals is not a favourite way of passing the time. I tried it today, but I didn't really see the effect as described in the manual. I checked via the menu that the button customisation was correct, too, and it was. I'd be grateful if you would point out something I might be missing here!

Manor Heath Park, Halifax, just a few miles from where I live, is a lovely spot, particularly at this time of year, though photography is sometimes tricky as it can be difficult to avoid over-fussy compositions. What I've tried to do here is to use the DoF to isolate the main subject from the background. All taken with K-3 and DA* 60-250, a lens I'm still getting to know after buying it from a forum member last autumn.
Please feel free to comment/offer advice, as always!

It's always good, I think, to get out in the quiet of early-ish sunny mornings. A few from Wednesday am, just to try and bring out the loveliness of the light. K-3 and DA 16-85. Any thoughts welcome.

Lovely - I always like this kind of shot, though I wouldn't have a clue about focus-stacking, if I've even got the terminology correct!

Thanks, Sry and Bill, for your comments - a fair amount of luck involved in a shot like no. 2, I think, so extra nice when it comes out as well as it did!
