Ordinary and extra-ordinary, both at the same time! Good stuff!

Inspirational! Each one showing vision, imagination and technique. (And how lucky you are to have all that mud to hand!)

Thanks, Gary, and no problem with your playing! The first one is good for me apart from the green leaves which to me now look over-saturated and unreal; I'm fine with the crop in the second, though the warm light on the building now makes me think of the skin tone of a certain "politician"! A bit over-cooked for me, though the barge looks lovely.

I think I'm beginning to be converted - the first one definitely seems to pack more punch! The colours of the second make the whole scene more friendly!

Thanks, Serge - I really appreciate your P.S. and think I'm beginning to understand your interpretation. My daughter chose no.2 as her favourite - she felt the leaves were sucking in their last ray of sunshine before finally falling to ground.
I personally like 4 and 12 - the light seems to give the leaves a life of their own emerging from the dark background.

Thanks, all!

Gareth, I couldn't find a vantage point high enough to give more prominence to the folds in the land going away to the horizon, but I'm pleased you mentioned that aspect of the shot.

Thanks you all for your generous comments!

Philip, on reflection - oh dear! - I think your cropping suggestion is a good one.

Gareth, I don't have that shot without people. It was getting quite busy at the time I took this. I wonder if Constable would include a high-vis cyclist if he were painting today! I'm not sure my cloning skills are up to making the walkers disappear!

Philip, Gareth, thanks to you both for your comments. The woods run alongside the canal and river for a couple of miles. Quite a few kingfishers to be seen on the river, too. A very pleasant area to walk!
