Thanks, John. I'm not surprised that you picked out the last two - the light in mid- to late afternoon at the moment is lovely and these two both illustrate that, I think.

Same walk as my last post, across the head of the valley and going back down the other side to Marsden.

Thank you, David. The stone marks the top of Pule Hill, high point on the Standedge (pronounced "Stannage") Trail, a local walk which is also part of a much longer one known, I think, as the Stanza Stones Trail. Each Stanza Stone is carved with a short piece of verse by Simon Armitage, the poet who was born in Marsden, just down the road from here.

At this time of year, the colours on the local moors have become pretty dull and uninteresting, I think. So on a walk last week I had decided to see if B&W could be more visually appealing than acres of dull brown moorland. Didn't quite go as planned, though - to the north was irresistible blue sky; to the south, scary-looking clouds! So 50/50 colour and B&W. All comments welcome as always. All with K-1 and D-FA 28-105

Thank you, Steve. Generally speaking, I do find autumn much more visually enjoyable than the other seasons, whether or not I'm out with the camera. Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that!

Thank you, Gary. From an accomplished snapper such as yourself, that's a real compliment.
