Wow...I loved the duck 'walking on the water"...such a fantastic capture.
Don't wish to seem fowl-tempered, but the water-walking avian entertainer captured in the excellent shot is a rail (Rallidae Fulica) or 'coot' and most certainly not a duck (member of the Anatidae).

Just thought I'd send that little ripple across the pond

Jon
Ahhh Jon me boy....how right your are.....I am sorry for calling the "old Coot" a duck. As I study the bird's beak more closely, I can see that it is indeed,NOT A DUCK!!

Consider the rippled water to have reach across the BIG POND, and felt here in Canada, by a humbled old lady.

The couple in the first shop look so intense. I think it is my favorite out of this set.

I really enjoy seeing this type of work, and what one can do with the camera.

I know that Darlene said that her photo, the one that won the curves comp, was a drive by shooting. I find it fascinating, as I too have tried different shoots like these.

Thank for sharing it all!

It's the first one for me...I love the illusion of depth in a photo.

Nice work!

I loved number 1 and 3.

The clarity of numer one, with its colours drew me in. It was pleasent to look at.

I thought that numer 3 was like a photo from the National Geographic Magazine. It was the creative way you pinned the focus on the creature...and had the forground and backgound blurred.

Nice work...greasy glass and all!

Thank you Glyn

I will tell the grandkids, Nana retired in 2011, got famous making frig magnets. Sold them by the dozens, before I knew it, I had sold millions of them all over the world! All my thanks went to a sweet humble judge from the UK..........

Congrats to all our winners!

Next time I will try something much more conventional

No Mike, they are raised lettering, were not painted. Nothing to rub off. However the Ok button on my K-m looks pretty sad....well rub off indeed!

I too have a third party grip. I love it. When it is attached to the camera, it looks exactly like it was made with the camera. It works fantastic, and came with two genuine Pentax battery for around $40 Canadian. Like Dr Mhuni, I feel like I am risking nothing. I am pretty happy.

My son lives in China, and he explains to me how easy it is for the Chinese people to make "knock-offs" of products. He tells me that many times they will use the same material, put it together using the same quality technology, and because they have no middle man selling it for them, they sell it at cost.

I find my battery grip sturdy, feels like a nice quality material. Most important it fits perfectly....no issues at all. I have also bought lens caps....lens hoods....soft camera covers...battery chargers....filters...and other fun stuff, all from the chinese e Bay market, except for some long shipping times....everything has been wonderful....Oh! except for the remote I bought, all the directions were in Chinese!!!Ops:shockIt's okay I figured it out by trial and error:roll
