Just a word of caution - there are some K-mount lenses that fit film cameras perfectly, but won't fit on a DSLR. One such example is a Vivitar 70-210 Macro which I've had for many years and can't use in the modern age.
I think RayB is referring to this:

see my post a few down. It's a problem that's quite easy to fix. The lens I use as an example is a nice one, so certainly worth the effort of modifying.

There is no problem using any lens in humid conditions, as long as when it's brought back inside it is left for a while to come to room temperature so that any moisture that has entered can evaporate. The problems only start if the moisture is trapped inside.

I used many lenses when I was in extremely humid conditions in Cambodia and Vietnam for two weeks. I always left my lenses open to the air during the night in the air-conditioned hotel room and didn't have any problems. In contrast, someone on the US forums recently moved to Cambodia and tried to seal his FA limited lenses away from moisture in a plastic box while not in use. Within two weeks they all had visible fungal growth in them, because the lenses were not allowed to breath.

So much for the FA limiteds not being up the task of performing on digital FF. These look great.

Most people seem to like them and consider them an integral part of the DA 15 experience. My 21mm produces starbursts too and I like them, aberration or otherwise

The 15mm was far-&-away the most expensive DA SMC ltd and it's the only one which is cheaper in the new HD form. Conversely, it's the only DA ltd which apparently performs better in the older version (due to the starbursts).

I expect prices for mint used SMC versions to be at least equal to the price of new HD ones before long, once new stocks of the SMC have gone.

The few images I've seen so far from this lens look good, and they were mostly shot wide open or close to it.

I like shallow DoF photos in principle (and I take a lot of them), but they have to be done properly. The increased low light capability of modern sensors and AF systems is no excuse to make glass slow because shallow DoF and bright viewfinders are necessary too.

I think this lens looks good, though it's certainly over-priced for what it is on paper. 20mm at the wide end will be good enough for 90% of shots - I use my 21mm a lot and when necessary I can stitch.

It's a shame the K5 II has been discontinued. I've been using my K200D for nearly five years and the shortcomings in AF and high ISO are making more of an impact in my photography. I'd thought to upgrade to a K5 II in a year or so but now that won't be possible (at least new), and the likelihood of Pentax bringing back upper LCDs and grips for their lower/mid-range bodies is slim. I don't know what the K3 price will be like then, but I don't want 24MP files to have to handle/store.

M42 Pentax 50mm F1.4 (Can't remember much more than that!!) that I bought around late 70s and sold 10 yrs later.

An absolute cracker
I think there's one for sale on the forum now...

I don't think I've ever sold any lenses and later much regretted it. That's because I don't sell many lenses, I tend to hoard all that I buy, though I think I'll sell off one or two shortly. If I suspect I'll miss them then I just keep them. My DA 55-300 hasn't been used for around two years but I've nothing else that long, so I don't sell it, even though I very, very rarely shoot long.
