Will they repair them out of warranty for free?

Hmm, it does sound as though there won't be a trickle-down of cheap used K20D and K7 bodies for a while!
Well I'm definitely keeping the K20D for a while longer, maybe until the K3

If you want a decent fisheye for sane money look at the Samyang 8mm, it has rave reviews in most quarters including from Photozone, who usually seem hard to please.
I can highly recommend it, got mine for less than £230 new, great build and optics, even Ken Rockwell rates it highly
Manual focus only but the DoF is huge, set at 1.5-2m everything is in fccus.

Or for DNG users, I tend to favour not putting all my negs in one basket

Maybe I should be thinking more backpack rather than photo backpack, I don't really need space for a laptop, I coud have the camera in a holster style case and longer zoom in padded lens case/wrap. Ideally I'd like to keep the flask seperate in an outer pocket in case of it leaking
If I could manage to fit my skidlid in the pack after the camera was removed that would be even better, nothing worse than carrying a helmet around all day

I myself is using Tamrac Evolution 6, of which is perfect for K-5.
That looks good, if a little pricey.

It also focusses better in low light too.
I thought there was a major issue with low light performance, as detailed here:

Looking for a small backpack to hold K20D gripped + DA-17-70, 55-300 or 70-300, perhaps one small prime, flask and sandwich. Prefer something light and waterproof with good protection to be used whilst travelling on a motorcycle, sling bag also considered if it doesn't interfere with banking through the corners

TIA,

John

I'd definitely take something wide DA-12-24 or Sigma 10-20.
