Have 2 of these for 5 weeks now, 1 died last week the other has literally just died out in the field right now. Just hope I can recover the photos then they are both being sent back for refunds.

Had wondered about those and whether being own brand they were reliable. Sorry you have had this problem.

I have been wary since having some of their own brand re-chargeable batteries die on me after not much use

I think irrespective of brand, I tend to favour not putting all my eggs in one basket and have a few cheap 4GB / 8GB cards stashed away in my bag. I also do what I do with wine in restaurants, and buy the second cheapest!

Good job they do a no quibble refund, I only hope you can recover the pics.

Have always preferred that approach but find that it is very quick to fill a 4GB card with K-5 RAW files, so thought I would give it a shot. Have 4x4GB Sandisk Extremes with me so should be OK.

And now K-5 no.2 is going faulty! 5 times now in the last few minutes when I've gone to take a shot, half press to focus and it continuously triggers the shutter! Keep missing shots!! Aaarrgghh!!!!

I've all ways used Sandisk never had a problem, but I know someone who had a bad one. When you consider the amount of cards produced there are bound to be some duds.

Hmm, it does sound as though there won't be a trickle-down of cheap used K20D and K7 bodies for a while!

Well I'm definitely keeping the K20D for a while longer, maybe until the K3

Exactly that!

Had 3 K-7s now having to take back a 2nd K-5. Really demoralising. Pentax really needs to sort their QC out as it is abysmal. Even thought about selling all up and changing system on the drive home, as there is no point going out on a shoot if you can't trust the kit.

If I don't get this back off the faulty memory card I'm gonna be well annoyed!
