I have also been looking the Tamron 70-300mm ! I have a Pentax FA ! 4.4-5.6 80-320mm in Silver that I bought with my MZ 30 and I use it on the k100d now, but it's a big numb thing and a bit soft at 320 ,I never noticed this with film! So do you think the 70-300mm will be a big improvement? Bob your shots with the Tamron look great, sharp and with good colour, hand held? BTW how long is the Tamron at 70mm i.e will it fit in the bag
when it's on the k100d? or shall I spend lots more money on the Tamron 28-300mm aspherical thats only 8.5 cms long Many thanks Jeff

I like 'em... moody shot's of a classic stratt , but I do say clone out the reflection of the whammy bar . Andrew your version has a nice gritty 60 s feel to it . Or is it just me...Jeff BTW what's a soot ?

I'm just getting the hang of posting pictures and its great to get feedback from you all, these are the flower heads of artichokes that grow almost wild around here. The very young chokes are picked in February and March and eaten raw with lemon and salt to go with the local spirit - raki.
Which of these two pictures do you prefer? I think the data should come with it.

It was really difficult to capture, got my feet wet and the bloody sea was in the way.
Thoughts??

Thanks for you comments, I'll have another go on the next clear night but I'm dead chuffed with what the K100 can do even in the hands of a newcomer. Can we get a look at what you did to it ?? Ive just got Iphoto just now so it would be good to see what you came up with ... Jeff

What a great shot by Technoblurb. I had a go that night too. Got out the tripod and the lens that I bought with my last SLR [Pentax 80-320]. Shot of a dozen or so shots, adjusting the speed until I came up with this:-

ISO 200; Aperture 5.6; Shutter Speed 1/750; 320mm lens; Cropped.

Not so good, but recognisably the same object as Technoblurb's shot.
Comments please.

Hi has anyone had a play with Pixelmator ? I had a look at some tutorials and it seems quite intuitive and works well with iPhoto and is much cheaper than Aperture! only 44 euros and a free 30 day trial.
When I've worked out how to use my k100 I'll give it a go...

Thanks for helpful comments.
Actually I've got some shots with less in the way of roofs etc . For example:this one
But in the end I kind of liked the little bits of clutter because it gave a sense of the vertiginous scale of the cloud.
Cheers
Jeff
