Hi has anyone had a play with Pixelmator ? I had a look at some tutorials and it seems quite intuitive and works well with iPhoto and is much cheaper than Aperture! only 44 euros and a free 30 day trial.
When I've worked out how to use my k100 I'll give it a go...

Pixelmator is a very nice piece of software.
However, its editing capabilities are geared towards web-graphics at the moment. I found it was ok for editing large TIFFs, but struggled a bit with what I needed to do.

If you want to use the Apple Composer filters etc then it's great. However, there's no support for Photoshop plugins (IIRC), and I have a fair stack of those. Trouble is, I've been using the full Photoshop for too long

If I was going for a budget package, then probably Elements would be it. But Pixelmator is definitely a great tool (and there are some excellent tutorials on their web site). I'm sure it'll grow... given time.
