... its a sea anemone.

It was really difficult to capture, got my feet wet and the bloody sea was in the way.
Thoughts??

polarising filter.

perhaps someone has some oil you could pour on the water to smooth it out. (line them up)

Or make one of those underwater viewers like a bucket with a glass bottom.

Given the cheapness of 18-55mm lenses just use one and sell it on ebay afterwards.

I quite like the effect you have got.

I like the effect though - like looking through that glass you get (or used to get) in some windows.

I like this image. I like the way the water is faceted makes it look almost like crocodile skin. If the bubbles were abscent it would pass as a close up of the head of a croc with a scary red eye.

i really cant see the sea anemon, but the color is nice almost like a pattern.

the idea of underwater viewer is interesting, maybe i would try it sometimes
