Extensions will get you there no problem, getting the light from the side is trickier as well a patient subject.

I use bullguard there should be a link on the block message that if you are sure that all is okay then they will look at the site and adjust the bullguard accordingly, I found that they acted very quickly last time I went through the process, was only a click or 2 so very easy. I don't use windoze anymore so cannot confirm for the last 6 month or so but I assume still would be there.

Tried again using my normal routine and same result...no access. However I then tried using a more recent edition of my browser (Opera) and it allows access, so I can only assume that there must be some sort of internal admin 'cut-off' point beyond which the old browser version must have been given its marching orders.

After reading Chris' suggestion about prefixing with https://, I tried this using my older browser version and it works...so as long as I have a 'workround' then it's fine with me.

I do find Bullguard to be quite aggressive sometimes in its protection, however that's the way I like it having experienced multiple attacks in the past.

Check the AF/MF switch on the side of the lens mount fully one way then the tuther, also with lens off make sure that the screw for the auto focus making sure it extends retracts as necessary.

Sadly cannot comment on Aperture but there is darktable http://www.darktable.org/install/ available for the mac, it is free so may be worth a look

Never had an issue with my 50-135 and a couple year old now, shame cannot say the same about my 17-70 second hand when I bought it but lets say it takes some wakening up.

I won't comment on the camera other than either would be an excellent choice, lens wise I really really liked the Tamron, it gave a quality to the shot that the pentax doesn't can't quite put my finger on exactly what but you forgo the weather sealing and build quality of the DFA 100mm WR which can be had for £299 here link which is a proper steal.
