Thanks everybody for your good advice. I'll stick to cropping for now and save my pennies for something else.

Cheers,

The Pentax Adapter K is still available new.

The technique is to attach the adapter to a screw thread lens and then bayonet it onto the camera. That lens can be unscrewed and replaced as desired, effectively turning the body into a screw thread one.

When we want to remove the Adapter K a small catch has to be released with a small tool sometimes provided or the tip of a pen or mini screwdriver. The adapter can then be gently rotated and dropped out into the palm of the hand.
Does this mean that it's a slow process to change back to K mount and not recommended "in the field"????

I have fancied a 400mm lens for a while and have thought about a screw mount but might change my mind now, especially in view of another of JR's comments ie it's better to crop from a 55-300.

Cheers,

Howard

Thanks for that link Colin, I'll look into that. I tried using layers, cutiing and pasting, etc, but the final result didn't look natural. I'll give it another go sometime.

Cheers,

Howard

BTW Are you in Bedford itself or outside? I use to live and work in Ampthill.

I like them, especially the relief. I believe the Assyrian room is quite spectacular.

Thanks everybody. I understand what you are saying, it was a dark November day which didn't help(that's my excuse). Perhaps it would be nice to have a bit of sparkle on the water. Can it be put there with post processing? If anybody wants to "play" you're welcome.

Does anybody know why they are different colours, is one a youngster?

Cheers,

I like this, my wife went "Ooh, that's lovely" and a photographer friend said "Wow, I'm jealous of that". So what do other people think of it???
All personal opinions of course. So comments, criticisms and advice welcome.

I recently visited the RAF Museum in Hendon. It's a great place, however it's very congested, not with people but with exhibits. It is therefore very difficult to take a photograph of an aircraft in isolation. I would therefore like to do a bit of cheating, using PSE7, to isolate an aircraft and put it against a different background, eg sky. I've tried using layers but myy PP skills are poor and the end result is woeful.

So any advice would be much appreciated.

Example of originals

Thanks in advance
