Design Icon: The Safety Pin

After much deliberation the safety pin was my #1. The runners up featured here are: Olympus Trip 35, Kodak Brownie, Marmite, Bic Biros, SME Series III tonearm, Lea & Perrins Worcester Sauce, Corgi "James Bond" Aston Martin DB5, BBC LS3/5A Loudspeakers, Penguin Books, Jacob Jensen designed B&O Beolit 707 Radio, Mondaine Swiss Railway Watch, Keith Murray designed Wedgewood Tankards and - of course - LEGO!

Taken on Thursday 4th February 2010 in my kitchen.

K10D | Zeiss Sonnar 135 (bonus design icon!) | ISO100 | f/11 | 10 seconds | Photoshop 5 PP

Having said that, I don't know what exactly I should be looking for. Or how I should do it (I just stop down using the bayonet and look through the glass). Any suggestions much appreciated on this score!
You're looking for fine web-like trails which usually start at the edge of the glass and then move inwards if not checked in time. This is from a Mamiya lens I had - ignore the yellowing and the dust spots, fungus wasn't the only problem this lens had!

It also depends on the cements used on the glass during manufacture. Modern synthetic compounds (which I guess Pentax now use as I have never seen fungus in modern Pentax glass) are unpalatable to most fungi, whereas Canada Balsam (which nearly all manufacturers used up until the 80's and some probably still do) is a tasty treat for them.

The best way to avoid infections is to keep them dry but in an airy place. You can buy special cupboards with de-humidifiers built in or you can drill holes in the side of an existing cupboard and put it somewhere warm with some silica gel packets. Regular use outside with some UV exposure won't do any harm either.

I believe the first number refers to the Master and the second number refers to the Slave. I've only got one P-TTL flash though so I've never confirmed that 100%.

The Usual Suspects
The Shawshank Redemption
Toy Story
The Italian Job
Fargo
Twin Town
Monty Python's Life Of Brian
Men In Black
Dogma
Amélie

Hard to limit it to just 10 though - I'm sure at a different time I'd come up with a different list

Excellent and fast judging there Prieni, and your version of my photo is indeed a great improvement!

Well done Hyram - a very nice graphical shot and I really like the colours. Look forward to the next theme!

I'd got it in my head it would fetch around £135, so I'm quite happy with £148.50

I also noticed a lack of last-minute bids (although both the Hanimex and Prinzgalaxy 35mm's attracted them). Either way everything fetched what I was hoping for so that'll do for this week...

I'd say 4kg is ample for your K20D and most (if not all) lenses you'll ever use it with. By the time you get to lenses that weigh more than 2-3kg then you're in the realms of the super-telephotos that cost as much as a small car and you'll probably want a dedicated gimbal-type tripod head with them anyway.
