The Minolta has been out of production for some years so eBay's your best bet.

Stefan, who cares, as long as the picture pleases . . . . somebody . . . . anybody?
With respect we all do or we wouldn't be here! If you're happy for your pictures to look like the first example and aren't bothered about getting something like the second then you could ditch your entire lens collection and just use a Tamron 18-250 or similar. I'll give you 50 quid for your DA*300...

It's a shame you can't post some results but I'm glad you're happy with them.

I've got an Epson Perfection V600 flatbed which does a very good job. Having said that around 80%+ of my scanning is from 120 size negatives, if I was just scanning 35mm negatives I'd have probably gone for a dedicated film scanner (dedicated MF film scanners cost way too much for me to afford).

Rather than re-invent the wheel I'll let Wikipedia explain for me: clicky

I do like the last shot of the kids, and I rather like the high-key effect in #3 as well. Good first effort all round!

I've just had a look at the F manual and it is indeed always on. To operate it you "take off the lens cap" (show it some light) and to switch it "off" you replace the lens cap (make it go dark). Fairly straightforward stuff

I've not owned an F but I was under the impression that they're always on? The same site as the service manuals also provides user manuals so have a check there.

The metering in Spotmatics is voltage independent so you should be able to use a 1.5v cell with no problems or modifications (many do!). What you will need is a spacer to make it fit in the battery compartment - a rubber ring from Maplins will do the trick.

Good luck with your new camera, Spotmatics are lovely things to use.

In Bruges (one of the best films for years)
I saw that for the first time last weekend and agree - one of the best films I've seen in years too.

Toy Story 3 was rather good too. I was worried they might be spinning the franchise out too far but it was just as excellent as the previous two - kudos to Pixar!
