All gorgeous photos!

I've seen nothing but good from this lens so far, even I'm starting to get tempted...

Was this with the new K20D / Sigma 180 combo? Nice pose but not quite as sharp and detailed as some of your other recent pics...

Looks quite different to the wrens we see in our gardens (not just in colour but in shape / stance too), I'm guessing it's a similarly tiny bird though? I like the first shot better from a composition point of view - I prefer to see eye contact with the camera.

I'm still doing flower shots too, in fact about 50%+ of my photography is of flowers so you're not alone!

I think this one is very nice as it is; it probably would work without the bee but I personaly think the bee adds a little interest to what would otherwise be a very static scene. I do love the colours; all those rich golden tones contrasting with the muted greens - my sort of photo!

That's because the camera and lens can't "talk" to each other so the camera can't report on what the aperture is set to - you have to read it from the barrel of the lens yourself.

Great shots Clarky but I especially like the fly, even if the lighting is a tad bright it still makes for an attractive and colourful picture

Excellent judging Lilly and congratulations to Dr Mhuni again - another well deserved win.

And Lilly, no it wasn't your imagination - it is a bit soft. To be honest it was the car I was taking pictures of that day and that was the only shot I had with the "shopkeeper" in it too. Also, no it's not my car but it is quite an impressive machine - he builds race engines for Jaguar saloons and constantly rebuilds that 200SX (in the pic) during his spare time to race himself most weekends. As for mono; you're probably right, but I have a thing for primary colours and it's the green that makes me grin in this one.

Both excellent shots - the first tells a story and the second's a great portrait; I'd be very pleased with them
