Very impressive! Although with those wheels he might struggle to negotiate any of the fields 'round these parts...

Have you spotted a gap in the market for a photographer's robo-helper then?

If you stick a manual (K / M / etc) lens on your K10D then the pop-up flash will fire without the pre-flash going off. You can dial in a certain amount of control via the Fn menu (as Nimitz says above) but you'll still need to use a bit of trial and error to get your exposures right. Good luck!

Nothing but blue skies and bright sunshine here too; if nothing changes by Sunday it looks like I'll have to delve into the archives for the second week running...

Nice find!

I've got a couple of lenses for a view camera (bought out of curiosity at a jumble sale years ago) but I've never owned an actual camera to use them on. If yours is light tight then you should get some film and run off some shots - I'll be quite envious!

I find the DA12-24 to be tricky to autofocus (not unusual for such a WA lens) so I rely on the distance markings quite a lot. Probably a hangover from my film days, but I find the markings to be pretty accurate as a rule.

I was unaware that this could be effected (affected? Never could remember which to use when) by ambient temperature so I'll keep an eye on that in the future.

For the focus test chart try taking the picture again using your 43mm @f.1.9 - the smaller the depth of field the easier it is to check BF/FF problems. It looks like yours is sharp from 6mm (front) to 14mm (back) on the one you've posted which suggests it's back focussing by a very small amount (probably too small to show with most pics and most lenses). If you want to adjust for this then full instructions are here: https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7203&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

I don't find brick walls to be particularly useful for focus checking but they do show levels of distortion up well...

Will be shooting a wedding on Aug 2nd for a friend.
How's this for a coincidence? On Saturday I did my first ever wedding for one of my customers at very short notice (sole photographer), and the reception was a bbq back at his house in..... YOUR ROAD!

First time I'd been in a house on the Rivets side and was suprised how far back the gardens go (and how many people they can comfortably hold). Very impressed!

I'll post some of the pictures at some point, but the bride and groom haven't seen any of them yet so I'll wait until they're happy first.

I certainly will

Probably won't be this week as I've got quite a bit on work-wise, but I'll be in touch soon.
