Wow! The first one looks a tad soft but the macro ones are incredible. I can't wait to see what you do when you eventually get the new lens to go with it!
Me want, me want! I failed to win the lottery again yesterday so I'll just have to wait a bit longer .
I'll just have to not spend too much in the US. Although lenses are really cheap there at the mo..... if I can lose the Bill Payer for an hour or two and hit a camera store then I fear the old credit card may take a beating If he sticks around he will be the voice of reason sadly.
Edit: it will be interesting to see if those having problems with their K20D's respond to these photos

Thanks guys, I am very happy with the results so far. I would have prefered the new lens though
Gwyn, I believe you would be crazy not to take advantage of your US trip, You will save some good money by purchasing over there Good luck and i hope you come with a big bag full of lenses for yourself and a bunch of fridge magnets for the friends and relo;s

Great shots Clarky but I especially like the fly, even if the lighting is a tad bright it still makes for an attractive and colourful picture

The fly is amazing....even if its a bit harsh.
How close are you when taking these fly pictures - do you crop a lot?
I have only managed a few keepers so far with my sigma 105mm when trying to capture a fly.

I try and get as close as i can, 6 to 12 inches. And try and only crop to frame up the images, but sometimes i would crop it up to 50%. Very rarely 100% it varies from shot to shot. The fly is amazing....even if its a bit harsh.

Just keep practising it will all fall into place when you get your technique more consistent.
