43MM FA Limited

Just sent George Lazarette a PM on this, but I don't think it will get to him.

Anyway, just to say that I'm following his recommendation and have ordered a new 43MM Ltd., in silver, here in Canada. (Can't find even one used offering on eBay. Tells me something).

I've discovered over a few years that I'm really a prime lens fan, but only have M42 screw mounts (several).

Rather than replacing them with K Mount primes, I think I should consider entering the lofty world of the leather bag

I'm paying as much for this lens as I paid for my SRS refurbed K110D and kit lens, but somehow I know it will be worth it. And it is the more reasonably priced of the Limiteds.

Stay tuned for my over-the-top gushing (objective reviews).

I shall be very interested to hear how you feel about this lens. Personally I fear it might be a little too long for me but the 31 is too large.

Mike,

Finding the ideal focal length has become even more difficult when we use the same lenses for film and digital (as I do).

That's why there are so many

Oh, gosh - Ltd. LBA

Anyhoo, I'll be pleased to let you know what I discover.

Good luck with the quest.

It's a lovely lens Mac, I'm sure you won't regret buying it! I use it as my standard "walk-around" lens on both the K10D and the MX; true, the field of view is narrower on the digital camera but I still look at it as being within the "normal"-ish range.

The fact that it's so small, light and tactile doesn't hurt either!

Well, I just got Mac's message, before reading this thread, and recommended the 31mm.

However, Mac knows what the 43's field of view will be on a DSLR (my only quibble with the 43mm), and I am sure he will be happy - especially as he'll use it for film, too.

It's a jewel in the optical firmament.

George,

Just read your PMs and am grateful for your advice as always.

The quest for the 31 Ltd will commence when the bank balance heals.

Then the 77 Ltd.

Hello, my name is Mac and I have LBA.......

You out there Batty?
