Kim C has one of those: link

Haven't seen him on this forum for ages - maybe he's moved to Canada and is now cashing in!

Go into the Custom Menu of your K10D and on the sixth (last) page you'll see the option "Using aperture ring". Set this option to "2" (Permitted) and you'll now be able to change the aperture using the ring on the lens (the camera has no electronic connection with older lenses so will show the aperture value as being "F--").

With the camera in manual mode you can set the aperture on lens and press the Green Button to get an appropriate shutter setting. You can also use the lens in Av mode but only wide open.

It takes a little practise to get used to using a fully manual lens but once you do they're usually quite capable of good results.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Yes I see what you mean - nothing to write home about are they?

Still, somewhere out there is someone who's blown their entire budget on a body + 18-55 kit and really wants a telephoto lens (even if it is poor) but can't afford more than fiver or so. That's the person who you'll be selling to.

Keep the listings honest, start them at 99p with no reserve, mention that they're not great performers (buyers like a little honesty) and they *will* sell. Probably not for very much but you'll be doing a couple of hard-up photographers a good deed...

Olive oil will bring marble tiles to a very high gloss shine.

Nah, just the first one to openly admit it...

All this talk of Leicas does make me hanker after an MP/M8 combo with a nice selection of lovely Leica glass so I'll add that to the Ebony on my wish list.

Didn't bother. I started the claim and they said I *might* be able to get a refund if I returned the sticky labels via a trackable mail service. That would have cost nearly £7 (non-refundable) to maybe get a refund of around £8 - life's too short frankly so I let it drop.

Before binning them try sticking them on eBay - they may not be stellar performers but there'll be somebody out there who can make use of them!

I'm quite happy with my K10D for digital but I wouldn't mind a large format camera with all the movements and a nice selection of lenses too. An Ebony or similar would do nicely thanks
