Using black tiles

I know I have seen a web site somewhere that explained how you can get a high gloss background to a still life using either black or green tiles.

Can anyone help me with this?

Olive oil will bring marble tiles to a very high gloss shine.

Thanks Hefty but I am sure I've seen an article that explained how to use one or possibly two gloss tiles to create a seamless and deep gloss background. Damned if I can find it now.
