Thanks for the judging Prieni, nicely done

And congratulations to Hyram for an excellent photo! I really liked pschlute's soft orange too but all were very good as usual.

We could do it on one hand Sunday as there were just the 5 of us... Nice ramble in the sun though so not complaining

See your PM's

Probably worth writing this down here for the benefit of others though:

Auto-aperture Taks have a tiny pin (in addition to the pin that operates the aperture) on the rear that protrudes by about 1mm. When this pin is "up" (ie lens unmounted) it locks the auto/manual switch. When the pin is depressed (mounted on camera or adapter) the switch is free again. Never attempt to force the switch if the pin is in the up position or you'll break it!

I'd say yours would set you back somewhere in the region of £40-60 depending on condition

Competitions where there is a "level playing field" will always attract more entries as people don't feel constrained by having to actually go out and shoot (setting pictures up can be time consuming!), worry about what equipment they use, feel intimidated by their own (perceived) lack of talent, etc.

For those reasons I think something like the RAW comp will always be better subscribed than the fortnightly one, but that doesn't mean one is neccessarily better than the other - just different. I think there's plenty enough space on here for both competitions to flourish.

You can get drinks and snacks from the Gift Shop but not full cooked meals (not that I've noticed before anyway). Plenty of nice big country pubs around there though...

Any of those dates sounds good to me and Stowe School would make an excellent venue for a photographic trip (and I'm not just saying that 'cos it's only 20 minutes up the road from me honest!)

If things get left up to me they have a tendency to never happen...

I stuffed my bag with eight lenses but only used six of them, here's a sample pic from each:

Zeiss Flektogon 35

Pentax FA43 Limited

Zeiss Pancolar 50

Pentax FA77 Limited

Jupiter-9 85mm

Zeiss Sonnar 135

The two taken but not used were the DA12-24 (the only zoom I took) and the D-FA100 Macro. Not my best photos ever but as usual the FA77 and the Sonnar 135 came up with the lion's share of keepers.
