Nothing wrong with that selection, although I take it you'll be getting a lens to cover the wider angles too (18-55/16-45/16-50 depending on budget)?

Don't forget to get a spare battery and a large-ish capacity memory card while you're at it, I think they're probably the two most vital accessories.

It's tempting, but I've made provisional plans to be at Santa Pod this weekend - if that falls through though you could well see me there

I was looking at a cinema projector down at the auctions a couple of weeks back and that had a similar-looking lens stuck on the front - so that's my guess.

I think it may be a tad big for my bellows unfortunately...

The Jupiter-9 is a lovely lens so I'm sure you'll be glad you bought one. My main complaint with mine is that it's prone to glare (big exposed front element + lack of coatings = poor contrast) so I ended up buying it a rigid hood and that's made quite a difference, especially outdoors in the sun. Any hood with a 49mm thread would do but I like rigid ones as they offer a bit of protection against knocks.

^^ I agree ^^

I've drilled a locking pin hole in the bottom of my Sonnar and it usually gets its own adapter. No need to glue the adapter, just ditch the metal clip and screw it on tight. If you ever need to remove it then do so with a rear cap from a K mount lens, under normal use it won't go anywhere...

I too have sent items to Italy without problem. I think the customs issue only effects packages arriving in Italy from *outside* the EU, so posting from the UK should be fine.

The film has nothing to do with it - you could send the same film to 10 different labs and get your results back in 10 different types of mounts, depending on what each lab chooses to use.

Any chance of a pic of the viewer showing the slide slot?

Why not? Samsung have the know-how for that sort of thing. I've heard a lot more unlikely ideas...
