I've got the large one and I love it.

I've only ever used the Rocket Blower and the built-in sensor shake on start-up. In two years I've not had any dust problems and I've never felt the need for a wet clean.

DFA lenses have an aperture ring
I don't think that is a must have for a DFA lens, this what I found on the UK site of pentax.

smc-DFA
This designation is used for lenses that are optimized for digital photography but can also be used with 35mm SLR cameras.

So in a sense most DA lenses can be qualified as DFA lenses.
I have to agree with Brian on that one; certain DA lenses may cover a 35mm frame but only the D-FA's have an aperture ring - this is quite significant! For instance, the DA200 won't vignette on film but neither will it work on older film cameras (like my MX) because there's no way of controlling the aperture. The D-FA lenses on the other hand will work on every K-mount camera ever made without a problem.

If Pentax introduce new D-FA lenses it doesn't neccessarily mean there's a new camera in the works; it could mean that they have a nice new lens and they want it to appeal to all Pentax users, not just the digital ones...

Beatrice glanced back at Frank's house, her heart still racing after the close encounter with Frank's wife. Would she ever be more than "The Other Woman" in his life and how was she going to get home with nothing but one of Frank's towels to cover her modesty..?

I think it's because myself and beginner won the Sherwood competitions so we got the automated invites to start new ones. I chose not to start one because then I'd have to judge it too...

When it's come down a little in price I think I may just buy one. I like the look and the specs very much!

Managed to get the cam to select shutter speed using green button-brilliant-success!!
Cant manage to press shutter and turn focus ring, I put cam in AF mode with manual lens fitted, set mode dial to manual, sort out exposure and press shutter button and it activates. not sure what is going wrong.
thanks to all the advice-great forum

Chris
I don't know the K200D intimately but other models have an option in the Custom Menu that allows you to enable or disable this function. With it enabled the camera will only fire if the focus indicator is lit, with it disabled (which it sounds like you have) the camera will fire when you press the shutter button regardless of the focus situation.

Can't tell you the exact name of the function off the top of my head I'm afraid but it should be reasonably obvious when you find it.
