Now how to shoot it that my non-American friends will understand....
If it was easy there'd be no fun in trying!

There's a scene at the back of my garden that I've shot several times because of the interesting shadows and I was really hoping to capture it again for the comp, but - as seems to be typical - the only two days in the last two weeks when there's been enough sun to cast any shadows I've been away!

Hence no entry from me this time

In all honesty I prefer your table and chair to the winner. Still, with all competitions you never know quite how the judge's mind works.

Thanks for that Gwyn.
Then probably reading comparisons between say Tamron and Sigma on a Canon mount would not have much relevance to how they perform in a Pentax set-up.
Yes and no; using your example if the Tamron faired significantly better than the Sigma on the Canon mount then the chances are good that the same would be true on the Pentax mount. What you couldn't fairly compare would be a test where the Tamron was on a Canon and the Sigma on a Pentax (or vice versa) as the playing field isn't level.

If the differences between the Tamron and the Sigma were only slight on the Canon mount then there's an outside chance that the reverse may be true on a Pentax camera or there may be nothing between them at all.

In other words, where two lenses are closely matched then the only way of telling which is best is to try them on the camera *you* intend to use them on; where one lens is *much* better than the other in a particular mount then it's unlikely to give up its advantage on other mounts.

Hope that makes sense!

I believe that if you tick the box to have it considered for the magazine then there's a delay before it appears on the website (it'll come up once they've decided which to use in the next issue basically).

Any views on the Samsung 35mm f2.0
It's a rebadged version of the Pentax FA35/2 - an excellent lens! Good review of it here: link

An 85mm Hefty? which one? It's not the FA* F1.4 is it? If it is, how much do you want for it?

Drooling as I type....
See previous response to Kris - certainly not an FA* or I'd be keeping it m'self

Don't get too excited - it's not an FA*85/1.4 or anything, just a Jupiter-9. It's a nice one though and works brilliantly, I thought of you when it came in...

All the prices went up and many folks were sad...

I've got a spare (cheap) 85mm I've held off putting on eBay 'til your return if you're still after one?
