Hello Clare, I don't think that it is too bad. The colours are as I remember on taking the 'pic'. I can't see what can be done to improve thess type of photographs. You can't change your position or you will lose the convenient space that I found for the morning sun.

Perhaps others have the knowledge to enlighten me.

As this site has a connection with SRS, I am assuming that my post is in order and in the correct forum. Please accept apologies if not.

I only delved into DSLR a week or so ago. After trawling the internet for places to buy equipment for my Pentax K-r, in Liverpool we have only the wretched Jessops and slightly less wretched Jacobs, I accidentally came across SRS.

Since then I have ordered around five or six separate items from them. On every occasion I have received my purchases in the next mornings post. Both Jessops and Jacobs did not have any of the items that I wanted and shewed little enthusiasm in trying to obtain them for me. It seems that they want only to sell you the expensive stuff.

That's the one Aura, sorry if I didn't make it clear. I emailed Pentax about the same thing. Their reply was that the K-r was not being discontinued and is still in production. I only bought mine four or five days ago. I hope this sets your mind.

In between trying to make sense of my K-r's manual and the camera, I have been looking around the site. I can only see eight photographs entered for this weeks competition. Where are all the others hiding, surely there are a lot more than this?

Just to recap then. This is my first effort at DSLR albeit taken with the 'autopilot' on. It was taken at around 08:15 today. It appears 'as is', that is to say completely unedited, straightened or cropped.

I would appreciate it if some of you would 'pass judgement' upon it. If you think that it is 'garbage' then I would rather that you say that and not patronise a complete DSLR novice.

Please forgive if this is either in the wrong place or not allowed. I have just uploaded my first proper DSLR photograph. I would be grateful if some of you can 'pass judgement' upon it's worth, or otherwise. If it is 'garbage', then please feel free to say as much.
