Mods please note a nikon seller has sneaked into the classified ads...
Not a seller, a Chinese spammer that will rip you off big time.

A good site for butterfly id is link

It is run in conjunction with the butterfly society. Loads of info and photos of full butterfly and of underwings

Follow the link to identification and drop down to Nymphalidae and look though the photos. There are one or two contenders, unfortuntley the light on yours is obscuring the true colour.

Good luck

Dave
That link isn't working Dave.

Gorgeous countryside but the vignetting seems intrusive.

Sorry to hear about your RTA Smeggy .. but thankfully you are relatively unharmed, a close call. I did exactly that once on the M25 (hire car - crap brakes and ran into the back of a Bentley Sports with rather better brakes - the owner was brilliant, didn't give a damn about his car just my family, all were OK).

I really like #6 & #8 above.

We're thinking of buying an apartment for our daughter in Canary Wharf so sooner or later will have to take a trip over to see the place.

Some great work there ! I really like the processing on some of these - is that the Bleach Bypass setting (e.g #1 & 7) ?

Favs : #6 / 7 / 15.

I think firstly you need to say in what situations the AF has been a bit off (not finding, or slow to find focus, or just not accurate) ? When you say for work do you mean at concerts or .... ?

The Tamron 70-200 should easily be faster than the Pentax 50-135 which is probably the second slowest SDM lens in the Pentax armoury. And the Tamron should also be faster than the beautiful Pentax DA* 60-250. If you want to trade off faster focusing for a little in the sharpness dept (not much) then go for the Sigma 70-200/2.8 instead.

The K5 should certainly outperform the 60D in concert conditions (and many other conditions) and with the Sigma you may have a winner. Another lens to consider (if you can still find one new, if not then used) is the Sigma 50-150/2.8, very sharp, quite fast and with quiet focusing.

If i were to use another brand then it would be Nikon (just waiting for the slew of D700s to hit the market after the D800 comes out) However the only reason is i want a FF camera and 3 or 4 high quality lenses is enough. Pentax would remain as my main brand. The big benefit of Canon is that virtually any lens you want can be adapted to fit them because of the short registration distance (look out for the mirror on the 5D though), whereas with Nikon virtually no other lenses (in comparison to Canon / Pentax) from other brands can be made to fit.

However Pentax have so many pluses and so few negatives, WR and in-camera IS being just two (but important features) but you can add to that the extremely high DR, actually usable high ISO, ergonomics and solidity of the cameras, plus a huge back catalogue of lenses, and for the money there is nothing that comes near IMHO.
