Really wish I had not looked ! NZ has been top of my places to visit list for many years without managing to get there yet. Seeing this fantastic set of images just makes me want to go even more.

Oh well - maybe one day

A beautiful set of images - very well done indeed

Quality - as always David, looks like you had a fine day out.

I have not found time to go 'chasing the dragons' yet this year - may see if I can clear a few hours to head down to Fairburn at the weekend. Last year they were being very elusive when I visited - except the 'joker' who landed on the end of my 150-500

The mute swan shot made me smile - exactly the sort of shot I end up with in similar circumstances - I never have the right settings dialed in when this sort of opportunity flies by - that said not bad at all - I have taken many that make this look like a masterpiece

Keep sharing - it's good for the soul

Wouldn't have bothered asking the question had there been one in there

Before I order one from Bristol Cameras (sorry SRS - they are beating you on price and have them in stock) - anybody got one they want to part with?

Hi

For what it's worth - I have owned the Sigma 10-20 since buying it new 6-7 years ago (previous model but almost identical to current). It is my most frequently used lens and I simply would not consider ever going out with the camera without it. It is a superb landscape lens and very versatile for street use, architecture, group shots etc.

During that 6-7 years - I have owned 3 copies of the Pentax 10-17 - which is also a great lens but ultimately one that I find fun to use for a while and then get bored of creating deliberately distorted shots - which as far as I am concerned is where this lens shines - so always end up selling it.

All such things are subjective - but if you are faced with a choice between these 2 lenses and what you really want is a good out and out landscape lens - the Sigma every time for me.

Some great images there Barrie and Tom - I am still trying to even see one in the wild!

Hi Tim

3 great images with number 2 literally jumping off the screen at me - fantastic depth on this one.

Can't wait for my trip to Wales in 4 weeks!

David - you may be right re the K3. The biggest problem I have with it is if on manual exposure it really seems to need pushing much higher than I always expect

Thanks all for your kind comments. For what it's worth I nearly did not post the last shot and the first one is my personal favourite - problem is I have photographed these so many times I get very blaze about them - and they are very easy to photograph - you could probably get a great shot of these using an average mobile phone.

Anyway - good to be back - thanks guys.
