I put in a claim earlier this year for my K5, grip, lens and other bits and my insurer wanted to replace them from Warehouse Express but when asked, they agreed to settle by cheque instead
Looking at the price of the K50 - this would give you the funds to buy a mint used K5II or 5IIs
Good luck

I put the 02 lens on it yesterday and it just omits a high pitched screech for 10 seconds showing a blank screen. Then the screen comes on but the camera will not fire and the lens will not focus. The camera is fine with the 01 lens attached so must be an issue with the 02 lens
Anybody had any similar issues?
Suspect it may be time for a new lens!

Haven't decided whether I am going yet - been off work with the flu most of the week and not sure if I am up to it. That said - if I wake up in time may well see you in Jane's for a bacon butty

That final image has a strange appeal though.

Hope you can make it. We shall be riding the rails - tickets are always available on the day - they just (for obvious reasons) encourage you to pre-purchase.
As Barrie said - we are aiming for Vivis lane car park 0845-0900. If you decide you are going and have concerns about the meeting place/ time - pm me and we can exchange mobile numbers.

I shall be there (as usual) - probably on the Saturday. Of all the 40s events in the North, to me this is by far and away the best - steam trains - live music - re-enacting - parades - period vehicles etc etc
Anybody fancy a bit of a group get-together?

I print b+w quite a bit. When my old printer died last year - I went for the Epson XP620. Epson have always produced decent photo printers but one of the reasons I went for this one is that it has a second black cartridge - specifically dedicated for photo use and produces (IMHO) very nice mono images.
Not sure what price point you are looking for but this one and the updated XP625 can be picked up for around £90
