Wow, that works now. Thanks again Stefan.

My K10D had drifted a little - I had to add +6 to get it correct. The GX10 hadn't shifted at all, but then this camera gets far less used/bounced around/etc.

That technique is (IMHO) far, far easier than using the Russian software.

Yes it does.
my problem was that i didn't left the SD card door open and remember that after the text you must press enter since there must be a new rule to finish the sentence.
Cool, I'll try that Stefan, thanks.

In the meantime, I got the old GX10 software working in Win 7 by running in XP SP2 compatability mode.

Update!

Problem solved - I re-installed Elements, updated (including ACR; same version as I tried before) and re-set the preferences.

The colours are now much more 'reasonable' and I've been able to make adjustments and set a default that's acceptable.

Thanks for the help and comments!

Regards,
Dingo.

Thanks for the replies:

amoringello - I have tried opening the files directly, but it makes no difference. What appears in ACR is transferred into PSE, so if I use ACR the colours are wrong.
I'll delete the preferences file and let PSE re-create it when I get home, and see if this makes any difference.

Gwyn - I noticed the blue especially, as ACR turns it greeny/blue, and by fiddling around with the ACR settings, I could make the blue look almost correct. But as you said, the greens still look muddied and dull.

I might have to do as you suggest, and convert everything in Photo Browser first. What I wanted to do with PSE was make all my adjustments before converting to JPG. Perhaps I could try converting to uncompressed TIF and see if this displays properly?

The other must be 'Thank Christ for the Bomb' by The Groundhogs. Couldn't find a link to the album art though...

Hi Matt,

I'm using PEF at the moment, exclusively since buying PSE about three weeks ago (my daughter has the Samsung...).

I've checked and updated ACR - no change.

General request!

Any other PSE users out there can verify this problem, or otherwise?
Thanks for any feedback.

I have the problem that when I drag a raw image over from Pentax Photo Browser v4 into Photoshop Elements the colours (particularly blue it seems to me) go awry.

If I open the image in Pentax Photo Browser the image is displayed correctly.
If I convert the image to jpg in Pentax Photo Lab the image is displayed correctly.
If I open this jpg in Photoshop Elements 8 the image is displayed correctly.
It's only when I open the raw files in Photoshop that the colours go wild!

Dragging the raw file into Elements opens a 'Camera raw' window, which has various adjustment tabs with sliders. What ever adjustments I make in this window, I cannot seem to replicate/keep the correct colours.

So, at the moment, I have to process the raw files in Pentax Photo lab, then open and edit them in Photoshop.

What on earth am I doing wrong? Any help/guidance would be appreciated!
