John, is there any reason that I should use sRGB over AdobeRGB?
You are seeing the sRGB space on your monitor reagrdless, you are printing the sRGB space on your printer and you need sRGB for web images.

If you mix Adobe RGB and sRGB in your workflow you will get weak colour in your images. Whatever you do, check that the camera and Photoshop are both set to the same colour space.

There are possible reasons for using the wider gamut of Adobe RGB but I don't find it necessary.
Sorry I took a long time to reply and to say thank you to both you and Anvh for the guidance.

I've actually set AdobeRGB in both the camera and Photoshop Elements (version eight), as most of my 'output' is via an Epson 1400 printer. In this case should I stay with that, or change to sRGB?

(Edit - that's annoying. I typed in v.8 in brackets and a smiley appeared!)

My Thorens deck was beyond repair - so now I have a 'Project' somethingorother...

However, my amp is very much current tech. A Denon with built-in pre-amp for the deck.

I have a few albums on both vinyl and CD, and to be honest prefer the 'clean' sound from the CD.

Colour is, IMHO, one of the strenghts of Pentax. My recommendation is don't over-think it and you'll be fine.

sRGB (both camera and Photoshop)
Daylight setting (to preserve the variation in natural light)
Switch off the variable setting for WB and change to fixed value
Natural
+1 sharpness, everything else neutral.
JPEG best possible quality.

That's where I am and it's working for me.
I do all of the above except that I use AdobeRGB.
John, is there any reason that I should use sRGB over AdobeRGB?

Thanks.

For the cat lovers, this is our latest batch.

And we have to leave our cars in the road now because they love to sleep in the engine bays. We still check under the bonnet every time we go out though.

Nice pic. Do keep us updated!

They don't always agree on the point of focus either...
This has been my experience with the cheap split prism that I tried. Even the angle of the eye to the viewfinder or rotating the camera has an effect.

I haven't tried the KatsEye (too rich for me!), but found that manual focussing has been more consistent and accurate with the original screen than the cheap split prism I bought.

I've tried the Chinese made 'Travor' horizontal split prism version, and spot metering is badly affected. As I use spot metering frequently this is a nuisance.

The quality of the screen is also not ideal - but then you get what you pay for!

I ended up putting the original screen back in for now.

You can get rid of "suggested sites" from IE, and I don't even know what "web slices" are. It's actually quite customisable.
Yes, I found out how to do that.

However, there is still a non-removeable button embedded in the 'favourites/history' side-bar that invites you to turn it on again, which I can't get rid of, and someone in my household kept clicking on...

I gave up with IE because of the *suggested sites* and *web slices* stuff. I think that this is all a bit too intrusive.

I just want to browse, so my Firefox installations are 'light'.

However, I've been playing around with a Firefox add-on called 'Ghostery'. It's amazing to see how much one is being tracked when browsing... AVG Anti-virus also picks up a huge number of tracking cookies.
