Fortnightly Competition Rules

This fortnightly competition is designed to encourage forum members to go out and capture new images relating to a set theme. The following rules apply:

1. All entries must be images taken within 14 days of the current theme being set;
2. Full Exif data should be supplied with each image, including date/time of capture;
3. Image should not exceed 800 pixels width;
4. Deadline for submission of entries is 1800 GMT every other Wednesday;
5. The competition winner will select winning entries 1-3 (and award ‘Highly Commended’s, if so desired), and post the results as soon as possible after the Wednesday deadline (though this will partly depend on time zone);
6. In contrast to the weekly competition the judge is not required to supply detailed feedback on all entries. Instead, other entrants – and forum members more generally – are encouraged to provide their own feedback on the various images in the parallel feedback thread in the competitions section;
7. The latest winner will select the next theme taking into consideration its practicality for all potential entrants (eg. don’t select ‘Winter’ when it’s summer down under), and will initiate the new competition as soon as possible after the previous results have been posted.

Happy snapping

can't find any 'How to' or instructions anywhere !?

tried using image tags, but no luck. I see there's a set place for weekly contest.

Do we do daylight saving or else for me GMT is GMT, it's at least clearer for everyone in the world?

Stefan,

As you would have noticed, I stayed with GMT / UTC for consistency.

UK based, so 6pm in the UK in my opinion - and it does matter as I have been known to submit within minutes of the deadline.

However, so long as it's clear I'll go with the flow.

Damned if I know - it always comes as a surprise to me when it happens. It has always struck me as a stupid idea anyway and now they are talking of a two hour shift not one which would get us line with bits of Europe I think. You'll need to Google it I'm afraid!

I agree 6.00pm local time, which means GMT in the Winter and BST in the Summer.
