Official K-r gone. What will replace it?
I've just been on UK, USA and Japanese Pentax sites. KR current on all three.
I read some rumours about a big US retailer not having any more but so what?
I would expect ALL Hoya Pentaxes to be obsolete and then come back in Ricoh labelled packaging and product. They aren't going to want to have Hoya on all their stuff. The photo software has already been changed in latest update.
I had my first Ricoh Pentax email this week. All compacts.

I know what you mean Bill. Have you read this posted on 12/12?:

Exactly, Hoya labelled stock running low! No doubt there will be new stuff for next years trade shows (Full frame, EVIL etc etc) but this is just silly Christmas season nonsense!
Other camera manufacturers push their current models just before xmas with decent advertising and suchlike.
Pentax on the other hand discontinue their best selling model.
Never let it be said that they aren't at least consistant in their marketing.
They discounted me a shiny new DA35 for xmas Thanks Pentax and Amazon.
I just want a serious equivalent to the G12/p7100 for under £400 and I'll buy it.
Oh and this 55-400 you keep going on about. I'd prefer a 70-210 f3.2. And a 100-400 F4. Both for about £450 please Pentax Santa
I don't want a 55-400mm, don't think I have ever asked for one actually ..it would be too slow.
250-400mm f4 would be about right .. along with a DA 1.5x reporting TC
I bow to your superior judgement
After using * for excellent lenses. And *istD ????!!!.
And those sweet FA lenses. And the "Q", I mean, I ask you.
The next release may as well be called the OMG-3 (optically masterful gadget ) or the WT-FF (weather tempered - full frame ).
They need some help with naming.
