Pointing a listing out on forum will help to make sure of that.

I was going to take some real world comparisons in the woods and the local church but I haven't got around to it yet, so here are the requested snaps from the 12-24. ISO 100 at f10. You can see how good the rectilinear performance is along with overall sharpness and corner sharpness:

I find ultra wide is quite a different style. I find it most useful for scenes where the foreground is the real feature - I have posted a picture of barleyfields in the gallery to illustrate; to impart the enormity of a landscape - I find it works best in a bleak mode as all pretty background and midground features recede; in tight spaces such as river scenes and interiors, The 12-24 is ideal for me for these uses, You do get perspective distortions when the camera isn't levelled but the rectilinear performance is very good, edge sharpness is important, i'll post comparitives when I can.

I have plenty of interior shots at 12mm used to advertise my just sold house. At the wide end then every mm really makes a big difference, especially in tight spaces. I am travelling but I can prepare some examples in a few days time if you don't get any in the meantime. I also have a 12-24mm in the classifieds.

This pixel shift thing is very interesting - the rumours were that this would be retro-fitted on existing models as a firmware update so maybe not . Built-in astrotracer is dead nifty. I would have thought those two features alone to be worthy of an upgrade - they seem to give more of an upgrade than the Nikon D7200 over the D7100. Better AF would be a big improvement, It's looking very good for the ff.

It's been on the roadmap for a few years now, I suspect that they will bring out a ff wide zoom instead, but that will cost.

I will be in the UK over the Easter weekend if anyone is interested in this lens.

Don't people buy lenses any more?
