I concur... we've loads of mid-range lenses that transmit info back... but to be able to add a connected 1.7x or 2.0x converter to my 150>450 zoom for bird photography and other wildlife shots at the top end of focal length would be marvellous.
I have the 400>600 mirror zoom, but that was bought mainly for the mirror lens bokeh... the results when focused are what I would describe as "35mm-soft"

It has always held good for any camera to underexpose... film or digital.... I use -o.3 or -o.7 as a standard.
The reason is that you can always pull detail out in the darkroom.... or nowadays with Lightroom or Photoshop etc.... but if you overexpose an area of white and blow the detail, that is it.... gone forever!

Living in France, I bought from a store here... so, my thick manual is in French.... I read French, but not technical French.... so....errr.... I downloaded and printed the English manual.... printer told me to load paper twice [I tend not to overload the tray] and I now have 146 sheets of paper [printed 1 side only on A4] and am wondering which way to bind them.... but I printed it centred to the page so that I have the left page [back of previous] and the space around the print to make notes....

My favourite thing so far is the Depth of Field bracketing!!.....
I have only tried it with the 28>105 lens.... next up is the Pentax Canon [150>450] but planting of tomatoes and aubergines etc takes priority at this time of the year. [It has only been in my sweaty hands for a month!]

Horst, don't rely on the emails.... I gave up years back... I keep the main PU homepage open as a tab on my browser... along with the Competitions page.Two tabs that sit next door to my Photocrowd Profile tab...
that way I never miss the announcement....

Fortunately, sugar beet never gets to the flowering stage as it is a biennial harvested after the first year..... however, the systemic is usually applied in the seed coating.... to my knowledge, no research has been done on the effect of residual amounts, and their effect on insects should an insect pollinated flowering crop [like flax] be grown the following season. It is also known that the chemical affects bats.... given that the reason the insecticide is used in the first case is to control the damage by the larvae of Noctuid moths.... many of whom I count in what I call "bat food" quantities when I put the mothtrap out.... especially the Yellow Underwings and Turnip moths.... both nice juicy prey for the bats.

This is a collection of rather random thoughts.
There is an ephemeral nature to any form of street art / grafiti and even, at times, sculpture.
It needs to be recorded... and I think published...
Recorded because of its ephemerality...
Published because it is a.... public work of art...
My wife is from Brum... she can't travel these day, so it is nice for her to be able to see them...
there will be others who feel the same.
The same applies to some of the wonderful "chalk" illustrations on pub walls, noticeboards, etc...
Someone has put a lot of time and effort into these things... someone else needs to record them.
The image below is on a building that is rarely seen, and probably by people like myself who stopped to have lunch...
or the bargees and local dog emptiers... it is by a canal in Northern France and the road goes straight over the top.

Also, bear in mind that the larger the print, the further away viewers are going to be standing from the image. This, in itself negates the effect of print quality...
Yes, we see the difference as we zoom in... but the print result will not reflect that... all printers vary if you are home producing... commercially, you are in the hands of their technicians and what they want as turnover!
I can view a 20"x10" picture on this monitor... and I have found that viewers are very happy with what they see on screen... and from my 6 colour printer....
even when printed commercially they are happy with the result... (my pictures are all Natural History focused)...
incidentally people seem to prefer mat finish over gloss.... and silk seems a good middle of the road for displays...
BUT...
I have yet to see anyone take a magnifying glass to one of my prints to see if there are any dead pixels visible.

I honestly do not think that pixel density is as important as overall picture quality...
and my K-3ii seems to require more work on a picture than for the K-1ii...
just my ha'peth worth...
