I remember a fellow I saw in vancouver years back, trying to eke out a living with his polaroid camera. He was in a wheelchair, and crippled up pretty bad. He would offer snapshots for a few bucks.

He had a leather pouch on his belt, into which he slid one end of a short stick (about the length of a collapsed monopod) and his camera mounted to the other end. He had a cable release mounted through the end nearest the camera. He had the camera strap around his neck. He could aim and fire that pretty good with his left hand....

so my advice would be to mount a cable release to a monopod and see if that helps

trick is to use all both methods.....where they work best.
2 (or more) shot method for stationary subjects....
Multiple exposures for motion blur effects....
Nd grads for moving subjects that need to be sharp...(is people shots, wildlife shots (on a trail or in a blind for example where you set up and wait for your subject to come into your frame) etc...)

doesn't quite look real.....perhaps you did not go far enough?
remember, when a painting looks just like a photograph it is considered art....
when a photo looks like a painting...it is considered art.....
but when either looks half way in between...It gets harder to tell if it was expression or mistake.....
either way it's nice to look atjavascript:emoticon('')

those are smart questions that get asked alot...a quick search of the forums will yeild a ton of results, but to get you started:

ask yourself what types of photos do you like to take?

which camera suits your needs best?

can your computer handle the bigger files from the k10?

you do realize the k10 has a "GREEN" mode? (auto everything).

I have a ds2 and a k10. (ds2 has same sensor as k100)

I get great images from both.

the 501.4 should be in every wedding/portrait/lowlight photographers bag.

A hip pack will hold either slr and two lenses......and since you wear it, often doesn't get treated any different than a ladies handbag......(don't know about international travel, but within Canada, I've never had anyone tell me it counts as a carry-on bag.)

PS: I like animals, but photos of pets should be served in very small doses. On 29 February, except for leap years. IMHO.
I'm gonna do a series on people who look like thier pets.....(even if I have to cheat and find people that look like animals and give them pets!).

Did you leave the Anti-shake on when the camera was on a tripod? Bit of unsharp mask needed I think.

Well the dogs behaved, but you know how people are....
get 'em inside and they're scratching themselves, shaking their coats, sniffing and licking everything....
....very poorly trained.....
