Think I would just switch to manual focus!

But then I have still not found my way all round the k5's menu's yet!

Give them a ring and explain. I'm sure it will all be sorted out ok.

Mind you, it's a bit late now for today the shop is probably closed. Pity you didn't ring, as suggested at 13.35, when they were still open!

The DA40 is full frame, one of the few DA's that are, just without an aperture ring.

Hi wotsit

Don't be worried about posting any questions, you just get answers and help when you need it.

Everybody started at sometime. The wonderful thing about this forum is that nobody minds if you ask questions and they are only too happy to help. We all start somewhere and this it a very good place to pick brains and learn from others experience.

Don't be afraid to post and have a good look around.

Just thought, Dry bags like these link will keep stuff waterproofed and could be used for bean bags as well.

I'd go with the Bean bag myself. Polystyrene filled ones weigh very little or just take some empty suitable bags and fill up when you get there (beans, rice, gravel etc). It will stand on top of anything that is available (walls, vehicles, bags, rucksack, wife's shoulder) and will work better than most lightweight tripods.

Take the credit card. You can buy the bargain ltd's and worry about the paying for it after!
