Very nice pictures.

Sorry, but I think I prefer the first version on number 2. The difference is subtle but seems more natural to me.

Just my opinion though and it's your picture.

About the only thing that should catch is the lens release catch.

Looks a bit like the release catch(chrome knob) is under strain. You could try gently rotating the lens and mount in opposite directions, backwards and forwards, while operating the lens release catch. Just a thought, The lens release could be a pull operation rather than a push.

Of course you may have already done this and I may be completely wrong.

Lovely set there Kris.

I've heard of Eric Hendrickson and his services. I understand his work is well thought of but does it gets too expensive to use him by post?

For your image above, the 16x9 works best for me and the 1x1 the least attractive. In fact I might try going even wider like this:Comment Image

It all depends on the picture we want to make. I often find 10'x8' gives a ratio that I like but 1x1 is sometimes just right! I think wide views can be great but they don't always suit the picture. The flexibility we have with digital is great but we always could crop with the enlarger or craft knife and rule.

I will often remove excess white paper from prints to get the picture how I want. Print to the largest side, then crop the print with a knife.

I have them both already but I now have a 20mm as well!

Lens received and very pleased. Thanks Jon for an easy transaction.

I think these are great! Never seen a clothes line look so good, positively Turneresque.

How are you actually doing it?
I understand the camera is being moved during the exposure but how much and for how long? Is there much done after exposure?

How about a DA16-45.
It is a great lens, constant aperture, close focus and ideal for flower pictures. Seems to have been sidelined now as other lenses have come along but prices are such that it has become extremely good value for money second hand. Not a macro lens but it close focuses and would be ideal for flowers.
