Wow, that's what I'd be hoping to emulate with ICM, great stuff. I'd hang up the last three for sure. SP.
Edinburgh

Depends where your staying, but if you're in the centre: Cliché but enjoyable shots to be had around the Grassmarket, the Vennel Steps have a nice one with Castle in the background. As above, down the Royal Mile, plenty of closes, plus just interesting old buildings. The view room on the top floor terrace of the National Museum is close by on Chambers st. Calton Hill for some classic shots of the Edinburgh skyline, looking down Princess Street, and over Waverley Station. Just wander around the various New Town streets is impressive, night or day, superb buildings and cobbled streets
Pentax K-1 Mark II rumours

Pentax K-1 Mark II rumours abound on social media this morning - anybody expecting anything special?
KP...What Do You Think?
Posted in Pentax Digital SLRs
Love the looks, the size and weight are very much intriguing, wildly expensive though. Having a camera that size but with DSLR battery life and grip options (on camera grip) is also intriguing. Rumours of the digital mirrorless ME / MX excite me even more though, a digital MX is all I've ever wanted. I've got A7r which is close but it doesn't say Pentax on the front obviously.

4, 5, 7 & 12 for me. These are all very interesting, certainly 'next-level' stuff. Kindly inspiring! No5 looks particularly commercially viable (if thats not an insult). Out of interest, how much post on average did these require? Sean.

Wreck at Longniddry
Posted in General Photographic Discussion
I've not been there since however, I understand the wreck is not what it once was, a few storms in recent years have taken there toll. I'm a member of a few Facebook pages for the area and never see any pics from the location anymore. get out onto the beach and turn left (west) and you should come across it.
Finally! Pentax K-1 is official... Pre-order and Open Day information

it looks like Pentaxians will have a strong, professional-grade tool that rivals or betters the competitors.... as a working pro.... I can assure you they already do with the K5 & K5iis ;-) re K1 : Really so pleased they kept the price competitive, that was the only thing that worried me, the design and build quality was always going to take care of itself. 2 things to do this week, i: Phone Chris @ SRS ii: Stick all my Ca*on and S*ny stuff on ebay

Like the look of that multi-function dial on the top-down view, 'logical and ergonomic ease of use' is why I use Pentax and that dial looks like a shining example.

That's a nice boost, well done mate!
Now that's what I call a 'pro' camera
Posted in Pentax Digital SLRs
Hi all, not logged in for awhile, but a comment on the 'K3II specs leaked online...' thread stirred my curiosity enough to stick the last JPEG from my K5 mk1 into my shuttercount.com 100259! How cool is that! All the paint is still on, no techy issues at all. I suppose I can call myself a professional (real estate/architecture) at this point, which makes the K5 a professional camera. People love to focus on the negatives, so I guess its nice to point out some good stuff. Also makes me chuckle when you look on ebay and see comments like 'selling due to upgrade - shutter count 2910'. Idiots with money to burn. Whats the point of owning a D800 or whatever and basically never using it?

Frustrating news.... waiting all these years and now the next few months are gonna kill me! Nearly every weekend I thought is this the one I stick all the Pentax gear on Ebay..... now it will be is this the weekend this Canon gear goes on Ebay! 20mp+ FF sensor in a K5/3 body with the Pentax interface and controls, and without doubt the Pentax DR, IS and WR? Yes please, the only thing that worries me is the price, and I doubt it will have the usual Pentax APSC drop off

Nice. This might be a good post to link to the next time the old 13 page FF debate or K3 vs K5II iso thread appears... :-)

Congrats PU team, looks good and works well, Gallery images also seem much improved, (perhaps this will allow for better critique too which is a topic that comes around often), I would agree there is perhaps a little bit too much 'dead' space, but this can be combated by simply zooming out on your browser (CTRL and your mouse wheel).

Think it looks up to date at least, so a hearty well done. Why not just add a 'sign in' with facebook facility?

Anything which makes viewing the site less like jumping in a flux-capacitor enhanced DeLorean back to 1985, would be an improvement.
Gallery - What has happened?
Posted in General Photographic Discussion
Just a good run, like the forum has its up's and downs. I've always been in the 'Gallery camp' on this site. While there are 'prettier' images to be found elsewhere, such as the flamboyant magazine stuff of 500px, I quite like the 'honest' and considered photography to be found here (if that makes any sense), along with the other very good stuff of course.

As the site is not officially connected to Pentax and the magazine is defunct why the ban, and it is a ban, on mentioning other brands never mind comparing and contrasting? One of the universes great mysteries. Just out of curiosity, is permission needed to use the Pentax logo/typeface?

It looks like a headless cyclist to me! The idea is good, but it really needs the head to be visible for it to work. :P+1
