So I am looking for a K200D (see my WTB ad).
I think I have found one on one of the "high street pawnbrokers".
It comes with the 18-55 kit lens and a nice Lowepro bag.
When it arrives, I open the box, all eager, and take out a K2000
This is, of course the US version of the K-M.
OK, so I am returning this for refund (and the seller has not made a fuss about this), but I have to try a couple of test shots, and these were way out of focus.
Rummaging in the depths of the bag, I find an SD card (wow, a whole 128mb) and take a quick look - the pics on it are also way out of focus.
A quick look with PhotoMe, tells me that the picures from the card in the bag were taken in 2008 with the K2000,and since then the body has taken a massive 40 shots (out of a total 4800 clicks as of yesterday).
One can only speculate as to who conned whom (or tried to) but this does remind one of Caveat Emptor.

Yes, I know there is a big difference between them in specification, but each one has what I want (notably the 10 megapix CCD sensor, SR, and the weather sealing)..

They do not have to sell them - they can just charge for access to their site, and enable downloading.
That way someone else is in breach of copyright.
And on the same theme, what about Photobucket and the small charge of $1 per day to link to one of the pictures in your library.
Who do you now suggest for photos of kit in the small-ads forum (Sale/Wanted)?

When I bought my *istD (from another member), he advised Eneloops.
Other rechargables and non-chargable just would not get it to come to life.
The Panasonic Eneloops came through the post, and it powered up instantly on the residual charge.
I run both my *istD and my X5 on Eneloops, and find that they hold their charge for ages. If I have not used a camera for a couple of months, it does get turned on to check battery state, and charged if needed.

Three attempts to install it - all failed at the screen asking if I had read the conditions etc.
And yes, my operating system is included (Win 7, 64 bit, fully updated).

Canon iX6550 is sitting beside me.
It did all my club comp stuff until I had to give up.
Will actually handle A3+ (if you think that size matters).

This is a new, unused, genuine Pentax grip.
It has been fitted once to check function (and I have since sold my K20, for health reasons).
It comes with several aftermarket DLI50 batteries (3 hold a charge, 1 dubious, 1 probably duff) and a spare Pentax D-BC50 charger.
The lot can go in the post (anywhere in UK) for £50

That Kaspersky price is the same as in Currys.
I tried Avast and found it was tediously slow to do anything.
I have a son-inlaw who is "something high up in IT" in a major international bank - he recommends Kaspersky.
For a spyware checker, I use SuperAntiSpyware (free) and SpyHunter (subscription).
The backup support on the latter is superb
