No, Defragged, it was an idealistic dream of replacing the hell of the industrial revolution, but sadly the reality has been hijacked by bureaucrats and planners who pass on the responsibility of realising their policies to developers who are by definition ill-equipped to do so.
I agree with you RobL. It's generally referred to as 'civic vandalism'. Sadly, far too may of our town & county councils are run by uneducated plebs, or even the more dangerous pseudo educated plebs, often there on a personal or political bent and with no real interest on serving and protecting the interests of those who entrusted them to office, they are easy meat and abdicate their responsibilities to nimby mercenary developers bearing greenbacks.

End of rant.....

I don't think Blake was referring literally to building houses or estates though.

Two lovely vintage lenses there.

On the subject of Pancolar, an 80mm f1.8 version sold on ebay yesterday for the princely sum £420.00 plus postage.

Just shows the esteem with which some people regard classic old glass!

The Flek 35mm f2.8 by-the -way, has a closer focus abilty than its oft sought after sibling the f2.4 version.

Good luck with your sales.

Lovely colours in 1,2 and 3 and I particularly like the Passion Flower and also the abstract water wall. The water arch could almost be a glass sculpture. A great selection of shots.
+1

It rather reminds me of a comment I once heard made by Alan Titchmarsh: "There's only one thing worse than finding a caterpillar in your apple and that's finding half a caterpillar"!

@JR(!) - glad that at least "someone else" shares "my view" that the "correct terminology" is quite important on issues like this, but somewhat "disappointed" that even a decent company like, in this case, Wilkinsons can't get those sorts of things "correct"
It's an issue with standards I fear, which for the most part are completely absent. In today's world, anything goes and everyone gets an 'A'.

Go figure!!!
