"close-up" filters - those are "close-up" lenses, NOT FILTERS because they have no filtration properties
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Getting old or just a bit picky in these days of lockdown and social distancing?

Nope, nothing to do with age or the lockdown! - held that view (as have MANY others!) for a VERY long time ,

Although everybody understands what the items are, photography does have terms that have accurate meanings and Wilkinsons have it wrong I'm afraid.

Close up lenses are often sold as sets, there are also zoom close up lenses, but they bend light and are definitely lenses. Like many (but not all) filters they screw into the filter thread of a camera lens.
Best regards, John

@JR(!) - glad that at least "someone else" shares "my view" that the "correct terminology" is quite important on issues like this, but somewhat "disappointed" that even a decent company like, in this case, Wilkinsons can't get those sorts of things "correct"

It's an issue with standards I fear, which for the most part are completely absent. In today's world, anything goes and everyone gets an 'A'.

Go figure!!!

I suspect some of the confusion lies in the fact that close up lenses screw into what we call the filter thread of the lens.

Teleconverter is now sold via this forum. Remaining items withdrawn. That's all my Pentax gear gone. Goodbye forum.

Goodbye Gramar - i wish we could have seen more of your images, your one image in the Gallery "Wild Flowers" is lovely - assuming you've moved to a different brand (format?) i hope you enjoy your new ventures
