A riot of colour

Spent a couple of hours at a gardens in Herefordshire this morning - it's not a huge place and some of the gardens are small and intricate, so there weren't many scenes or panoramas to capture! The only lens that I ended up using was the Pentax 200mm Macro, and because of good lighting and mainly static subjects I was able to get the focus right on most shots.

I don't know all the correct names for the flowers, so apologies if I get some wrong

1. Autumnal Acer

2. Intense Nasturtiums

3. Deep Dahlias

4. Water Arch

5. Monets Lilypads

6. Water Wall

7. Perspiring Roses

8. Passiflora 'Caerulea'

An added bonus was the superb Coffee & Walnut and Victoria Sandwich slices of cake we shared

Lovely colours in 1,2 and 3 and I particularly like the Passion Flower and also the abstract water wall. The water arch could almost be a glass sculpture. A great selection of shots.

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

Excellent set, love the use of the lens characteristics in No. 5, the bokeh is so subtle and pleasing.

Beautiful - tack sharp where they need to be and in agreement with Haris, lovely out-of-focus areas.

Beautiful examples, I had to google this lens and it seems to be worth its weight in gold - literally! I can see why you wouldn’t part with it though.

A masterful set . Wonderfully well seen and superb execution. However good the lens and camera, it's the photographer who makes the picture. With a bit of help from nature, of course .

Thanks for all the positive comments - it was an enjoyable morning and apart from our holiday to Brownsea a few weeks ago the first "normal" thing we've done since before Lockdown

Very well seen, that first one, LennyB - great light and colours, beautiful composition (a portrait, really), and the shadow of the leaf's stem projected onto the leaf itself... Wonderful.
