That's a bargain and if I didn't already own one I would snap this up.

Hello Benz3ne,

SMC 28mm f3.5 Bright clear glass both front and rear, fungus free, (like most of my lenses it has been stored in a humidity/temp controlled lens safe) Snappy aperture, lovely smooth focus, front and rear caps, (no case) has the odd body scuff commensurate with use and age but good order throughout. Lets say £38.00 inc standard post. If you want special delivery that's fine but will cost more. Compared to the current stock of ebay prices I think my price is fair but no pressure

If you are still interested payment via PPF&F is fine and I'll post it within 24hrs.

If you don't find one here, Ffordes currentlt have several in stock, or alternatively, I have the smc M 28mm f3.5 if that helps.

Good luck...

I love this new Pentax firmware upgrade for the K-3iii to improve the fast focus.
Maybe the next version could make the wildlife come towards us - rather than going away from us
Try positioning yourself at the other end of the Heron next time so that it takes off towards you

Seriously though, birds, especially larger birds, prefer to take off into the wind to enable them more lift for less effort. If possible, try to position yourself upwind of your target to give yourself an edge.

Hello forum,

I've fallen in love with a Zeiss Otus 55mm 1.4 full-frame. It comes with either Canon or Nikon mount.

Does anyone here have any experience with using an adoptor from Nikon mount to Pentax mount with a Pentax K1 camera?

Does an adaptor mean that aperture will function automatically?

And, lastly, will the adaptor affect the focal length and/or the minimum focusing distance (49cm)?

Thanks!
You could look into one of these adapters:- link

I doubt though that it would provide for auto focus or auto anything for that matter so you might well have to be satisfied with manual operations only. Still, at least you should (I think) get to use the Zeiss Otis on the K1. Me thinks you will need to do some research though!

Good luck.

For anyone in the market for a nice set of a relatively light weight pair of binoculars at a not bad price (I couldn't find any cheaper than this anywhere, even SRS) of £100 including postage then look here:- link

As a walk about pair of bino's they are IMVHO superb and have a very useful close focus ability. They are also made by Pentax which should appeal to those who wish to remain loyal to the Pentax family.

It can be done but sooner or later you will remove the lens and the adapter will stay in the camera. It can be more trouble than you might expect. Once you get used to it you will almost certainly get more lenses from E bay - M42s are not expensive and it's fun to try them out.
It's actually easier to remove the adapter from the camera body if the little metal spring plate has been removed which will be necessary to do if the adapter is to be permanently fixed to the lens. The big caveat is that if using a lens with a stiff focus ring (a common downside found on vintage M42 lenses) then one can if not careful, unwittingly dismount the lens from the the camera whilst focussing, so care is needed. That aside, the purchase and enjoyment to be found in using a vintage M42 lens can lead to a long term addiction. You have been warned!

The two lenses are also excellent and just as usable on a digital camera as they were on film.
