For some reason this lens slipped under my radar. It seems to get reviews saying it is exceptionally sharp. Has anyone tried it with TC's and what was it like?

Love the boot shot. Perhaps one day we won't use DSLR's!

Probably read an old review when it was being compared in its near £500 starting price with others in that bracket. Reviews on here are very good and I've found it amazing value at the low price.

No if I had the extra money (£150 is a lot)but that or the Tamron with macro(£99.99) are great starting out lenses on a tight budget.

I thought I'd posted the original Mike! That's how I am with landscapes. I can't seem to get that extra something like some of the others on here.
Anyway, I like the first one the best and I agree a little cropped off the bottom will help. I wondered about flipping horizontally so the eye leads into the building?

I imagine it is a fantastic lens to have. But at that price, and I am sure it is worth it, you may have to target a larger audience maybe one with more professionals. After all there are few Pentax lenses costing more than £1500 so it is a big investment.
Good luck,
Dave

Fantastic and interesting shots Alan. For a minute in the first one I thought it was carrying that flower stem in its beak for a bit of home decor. The chicks always remind me of humbugs!

Just looks to me like the K5 is over exposing a stop for some reason.

Last one is best as is sharpest, the most important aspect in bird photography. Possibly cropped a bit close at left and bottom, if you had a choice. Not sure how you would bait it as pretty much feeds on ants although you might have a chance with live mealworms.
