A fine set. I particularly enjoyed the stained glass windows, you've controlled the highlights perfectly with nothing blown out.
I'm surprised you shoot in JPEG, RAW gives you more scope for recovering blown highlights and under exposed dark areas. But you appear to have it all under control in any case.

Thanks Derek and Philip. The colours were there but I brought out the contrast a little, first in the RAW converter then with levels in Photoshop to give them more life. I never do HD or over-work the saturation. But I did work on the surface of the river in No.3 more than the others. No. 3 is also my favourite of the set.

Thanks for the positive comments. It was another good day of photography with Durham Photographic Society even though the light was poor.

Barrie has posted his pictures from a camera club project on the banks of the Tyne in mono. Here's mine from the same trip in colour.

These are gorgeous. There's something so peaceful and relaxing about canals and you've captured that here. The waterfalls are different but so beautifully photographed.

Gritty, well observed and challenging. These images are a fine example of documentary photography with expert composition to sugar the pill. Why should all photographs have aesthetic appeal..... we photographers should also be duty bound to record every aspect of our environment, each in our individual way.
Well done Bill.

March, August and October are my standout favourites but the set as a whole is varied and full of interest.

Thanks Gwyn, David, Andy, Raza and Nigel for your comments. The most difficult shot was the Bishop. Lighting inside Durham Cathedral was difficult and mixed - natural light through the Rose Window and strip lighting on the Bishop's face so I had to balance the colour in PS. I couldn't use flash or a tripod in the middle of a service, so ISO was 6,400 but I was pleased the way it turned out.
