It would be helpful for you to state what remote and what camera you have. I have a K-x and K-m, both have infra-red sensors on the front of the grip, so the remote can only be fired from the front. It seems to work from a fair distance away, but I've not measured it.

A very fine set of pictures that I would have been delighted to have taken. I can't see any focus issues on these.

I'm getting a bit worried Alan, I've now uploaded 13 and had 12 approved; I hope this doesn't mean my pictures are rubbish!

I agree that there are a large number of mundane shots uploaded that I've voted on but I'm not sure about the quality vs. the previous PPG as I was not a member then.

I have a PX720WD which I think is virtually the same as yours - you can't use custom profiles with this printer as far as I know (I spent ages researching this on the web). Someone out there may know different.

In any case I find the profiles for the Premium Glossy and Ultra Glossy paper are very good, but you must use quality paper, preferably Epson.

I have had great results with non-genuine inks and I now use refillables from a company called Signal Inks which you can buy on ebay.

You need to tell us which model of printer it is and we might have a clue!

Unless it is one of the more expensive Epsons, you will probably need to stick with the profiles that came with it, which are usually excellent as long as you use the right paper.

Some stunners in there - I particularly like the Nuthatch and the Blue Tit hanging head downwards on the catkins.

Just a quick note that may be useful for those of you (like me) who store your digital files on multiple drives in case of drive failure. I've found a great little freeware program called 'Allway Sync' that automatically synchronises the folders based on scheduled tasks or being run manually. I now only have to save my files once to a single drive and the software synchronises the folders and files to my two other network drives automatically. You can download this at http://allwaysync.com

Hope this is useful.

Second vote for 55-300 - it is absolutely superb for the money. Knocks spots off both Tamron and Sigma 70-300mm and definitely worth spending more for the Pentax lens.
